The emergence of Chat-GTP and other language-related AI technology in recent years have produced profound impact on language education and language service. Students majoring in language and translation studies are concerned about their job security and career development prospects as people do in other areas of studies. Computer-aided translation and other related language tools lend help to breaking the language barriers for cross-cultural communication and to raised work efficiency of translation service. University education and training should empower students with the technological capabilities they need so that they can adapt themselves to the changed circumstances. However, translation and interpreting for successful communication always involve a fair degree of creativeness that humans can excel and university education should focus on developing the linguistic and cultural awareness, the abilities for reflective and critical thinking and the resourcefulness of language use in the learners so that they can become expert users of languages in an era driven by fast-developing technology.

王立弟教授，现任香港中文大学（深圳）英语课程主任。曾任港中深人文社科学院副院长，北京外国语大学高级翻译学院院长和博士生指导教师，教育部翻译专业硕士指导委员会委员、全国翻译资格考试专家委员会委员。任中国翻译协会理事会理事及资深会员，中国科普作家协会会员，香港恒生大学翻译课程咨询专家，台湾《编译论丛》咨询专家，Translation Today （India）编委。曾在国内外刊物发表相关领域学术论文多篇，出版编辑专著、论文集刊、教材、词典和译著。曾获得深圳市学科领军人才奖、深圳孔雀计划“A”类人才奖和深圳哲学社会科学优秀成果奖。
